On September 30, 2021, the Space Data Marketplace project was launched with the mission to facilitate access to space data and create value for the entire space industry in France, Europe, and internationally through impactful use cases addressing societal challenges.
Supported by the France Relance plan and CNES, the Space Data Marketplace is led by a consortium headed by Dawex and including Airbus Defence and Space, Dassault Systèmes, Thales Alenia Space, Geoflex, VisioTerra, namR, Altametris, Murmuration and Occitanie Data. These organizations leverage the advanced capabilities of the platform to distribute and access a rich array of space data and associated services.
Space Data Marketplace promotes access to space data and their broader utilization through:
Space Data Marketplace will be the meeting point for the space industry and various organizations across multiple sectors that are increasingly interested in exploiting space data.
Bringing together the most sophisticated technology and leading companies within the consortium, Space Data Marketplace is the trusted environment for the exchange and sharing of space data among economic actors, institutions, and public organizations.
This environment fosters the creation of strong partnerships to enhance creativity, generate new opportunities, and thereby contribute to the growth of the space industry.
« It is an honor and a great pride to contribute to the development of Space Data Marketplace by providing the industry with the means to create strong data partnerships, », says Laurent Lafaye, co-CEO of Dawex.
« Inspiring use cases are emerging, such as housing renovation and energy compliance to meet the challenges of climate change, or the optimization of logistics and mobility with the development of last-mile delivery services. By stimulating innovation, Space Data Marketplace will be the cornerstone of an entire ecosystem consuming space data. »
Space data is brimming with essential information that will find numerous applications in multiple sectors of activity.
Democratizing access to space data will accelerate innovation and value creation within a broad ecosystem, directly contributing to the growth of the space industry.
